“Don’t worry, ‘bout a thing, cause every little thing, is gonna be alright.” Most people have heard this part of a song by Bob Marley, but not many live by this motto. It’s so easy to become doubtful and worried about about the future. There’re worries about money, relationships, children, grandchildren, housing, retirement, and just about anything we can think of.

One way to overcome worry and doubt is to take one day at a time. This might sound simplistic, but it works. If you have too many cares and concerns swirling around in your head you can’t think straight, and if you aren’t thinking straight, you can become more emotional, less logical, and more worried.

So, here’s what you do: Think about what you will do each day. Concentrate on being the best you can be for that day. Do that one thing that will make a difference in your situation. Ask God what he wants from you. At the end of the day ask God if you accomplished it. Repeat.

Take each day as it comes and try not to project yourself into the future. Hang around good people who care for you. Listen to good music. Watch good t.v. Read great, positive books on hope and healing. Exercise and eat right.

“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they? And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? Matthew 26:25-27
